We believe that when a man and a woman are married, they are no longer two, but are one.
We believe that when two individuals say, “I do,” that God joins them together as one. When a man and a woman stand before God at the altar on their wedding day, they form a covenant together, with Jesus as their center. As they commit their vows and announce their promises, something very special happens. At that moment, they are no longer two, but they’ve become one.
Jesus replied, “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. ~ Mark 10:7-9
We take the covenant of marriage very seriously and have found it our mission to partner with God in order to encourage, equip, and empower husbands and wives to protect and prioritize their marriage.
We believe that every marriage has a unique calling and purpose.
It is understood, among Christians, that when a person accepts the free gift of salvation through Jesus that they are given a unique calling or purpose on their life; that God has masterfully designed them to carry out their specific calling in order to bring Him glory and to advance His Kingdom here on earth. What happens when two people join together in marriage? Does their calling stop? No! The husband, with his unique identity, calling, and purpose joins with his wife, with her unique identity, calling, and purpose. When the two become one through the covenant of marriage, their marriage now has its own identity, calling, and purpose as well!
We believe that each marriage has a unique design, calling, and purpose in order to make God known in the world around them!
Think of it this way. No two people are the same, right? Their personality, talents, likes, dislikes, and gifts combined with their environment, community, friends, and family creates such a unique and incomparable purpose that no other can replicate. No one else can carry out their specific purpose in life.
Now, take two people, each with their own gifts, talents, and personality, and join them together in marriage. All of a sudden, there is a marriage that is created from the combination of two very unique people with a unique combination of gifts, talents, personalities, communities, environments, friends, and families. It becomes clear that not only can’t there be two people alike, there also cannot be two marriages that are alike! Each marriage takes on its own unique “personality” and with that, comes a calling and purpose that no other marriage can replicate or carry out! We have already pointed out that it is God Himself who joins the two together into one. Therefore, since God joined the two as one, it is clear that God has also created a specific purpose for each marriage to bring Him glory and to advance His Kingdom!
We exist to empower couples to discover and fulfill their unique purpose.
We are confident that, although there are many strong Christians with healthy marriages, if asked, most people would not be able to identify or communicate their marriage purpose. This is an issue. If God has called each marriage into a specific purpose in order to advance His Kingdom, but most marriages aren’t aware of what that calling actually is, then His power, glory, and mission isn’t being carried out in the way that He intended!

When Christian marriages discover their unique calling and purpose and are empowered to begin fulfilling their purpose, then the Kingdom of God will spread across the earth just as He intended it to do!

We believe that a struggling marriage is oftentimes focused on the wrong things. They’re inward focused, or what we call, problem focused. Husbands and wives in a struggling marriage tend to set their minds on the things that are wrong instead of focusing on the things that are right.
2 to 1 Ministries helps struggling marriages begin to shift from being problem focused into becoming purpose focused!
We guide couples through an intensive process, with the leading of the Holy Spirit, to identify where they’ve been, determine where they currently are, and recognize where they want to go! We help couples address the problems. But we don’t stay there! We help them begin to move forward, in unity, toward their marriage’s vision and purpose! When this happens, the couple no longer has a focus on their problems, differences, or dislikes. They shift that focus to their unified vision and to the purpose that God has designed for them together, as one!
We equip engaged couples to successfully build their future marriage.
Many engaged couples spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours preparing for their wedding day! They focus on every detail in preparation to ensure that their special day is absolutely flawless! Unfortunately, too often, the couple sacrifices their time planning for the wedding day instead of planning for the rest of their life! The most important thing gets forgotten…their marriage!
As we have stated above, we take the covenant of marriage very seriously. Because of this, we help engaged couples build their future marriage on a solid and biblical foundation. We guide couples through a series of topics including God’s design for marriage, healthy communication and conflict resolution skills, creating a united vision, general expectations, sex, and more! We believe that it is imperative for every engaged couple to take intentional time in order to prepare for their future marriage!
